I was really excited to get this printer up and running. Perfect for a home office, where I put anywhere from 8-10 hours of work in a week. Well, while it looks sleek, it definitely feels like you’re going to break the thing when you touch it, haha. Biggest flaw (and I’m still trying to determine whether to return it or not.it hasn’t happened often enough yet for me to declare it a huge issue) is that the printer often fails to pull paper in to print. You hear the rubber track wheel turning inside to grab paper, and it doesn’t feed the paper.

The printer then errors and says it’s out of paper or is too full, or is jammed. None of which are the case. Then you have to reset the damn thing. Tried troubleshooting with Canon’s site, but like I said, it doesn’t happen often enough yet.
I cannot install the Brother printer driver (Mac). How to Install Brother Printer Drivers Mac: Once you have downloaded the driver ver 4.1.1 from Apple which is mentioned above. It should install the driver automatically after connecting the Printer to your Mac.
Was a little concerned with buying this product based on people having bad experiences with the HP auto order ink thing. Turns out you absolutely do not have to deal with that.
I just plugged the printer in, connected it to my wifi, and then selected it to be my printer from Windows 10 and it's worked with no problem, never once hassling me about ordering ink. My guess is the issue other people are experiencing comes from installing the HP software which doesn't appear to be necessary. I can also print from my phone with no problem. I'd recommend this product.
I love my new Canon TS 6120. My 10 years old HP C6280 suddenly break down and I had to replace my home office printer ASAP. I did some research and even though this model doesn't have reviews yet I thought it would be better to order a NEW model with the last technology in. I was only looking for 'wireless' and 'color printer' feature that would work with all my Apple product (IPhone 6S & Mac book pro) for home office usage. And it is Apple product friendly! The size of the printer is not big and the design is very attractive.
It comes with the full size ink. I love that they make it in white color. Overall I'm very satisfied and I don't regret having take the risk to order a brand new model. I ordered from canon website since they have the promotion until the end of the month. I'm using this printer with a mid-2012 MacBook Pro and OS X 10.9.4 (Mavericks).
I downloaded the setup file directly from Canon's website and didn't bother trying to use their included CDROM because I assumed it might be full of bloatware I didn't want. Canon includes a lengthly (3 page) print cartridge alignment procedure that's triggered during the setup and anytime the ink cartridges are disturbed or replaced. This process is essential for best text and image sharpness. I'm happy to report this printer works perfectly. It prints beautiful, sharp graphics and images. The reasonably small footprint (when compared to multi-function printers) is a nice bonus. It's an absolute bargain!
I bought the Canon LBP600D or something like that, and it was awful. No mac drivers (we have a mix in our house). Come on Canon, it's 2014, not 2002, every device should work on Mac, Windows, and even iOS and Android! Get with the times. Anyway, I tried to install that and it didn't work on my PC. I went to install it like every other printer I've ever used by plugging it into power and my PC.
You're supposed to install the software first. Couldn't ever get it to work, and this is coming from someone who used to setup technology solutions small offices such as printers, servers, networks etc. If I couldn't figure that out, then how can the regular non-tech person? Anyway, onto this printer. The Brother HL-L2340DW setup was a breeze.
As easier as you could hope for, really. I placed it on the desk. One significant item prevents me from giving this a five-star review. See the two pairs of images below printed on plain paper.
The color graph on top is from the LaserJet printer and the landscape photo I took in Yellowstone on the top is printed from the HP Laserjet printer. The others below were from an Epson WF-4630 inkjet printer for reference. I used a Canon D5 Mark II camera to photograph the prints.
The paper isn't lying flat, so I cropped the edges so that it is not a distraction. The images look much better in person than the camera's images below indicate. I expected the inkjet print edges to curl when using plain paper, but I was surprised a laserjet print would curl nearly the same amount, but a little less. I used high brightness 24-pound paper – thicker than the average paper. Short summary, 5 stars for actual printing function, - 1 star for high degree of frustration in setting it up on a network. Let me start with this by saying I have extensive experience in IT and setting up computers, printers, networks, etc. I found setting this printer up on the network was a nightmare.
There are two modes basically, one that allows it connect to the local wireless network and a mode where the printer creates it's own network and you then connect to that to print. The problem comes in trying to determine which mode you are in as there is no external feedback on the device. You have to hold down one button until a light flashes 3 or 4 times to switch back and forth, then hold down another button until a light flashes 6 times and then printer a page showing you what mode you are. I was getting very frustrated with this printer and it's 'deep sleep' issues UNTIL I chatted with Brother support and updated the firmware. Now it works great!
The issue PRIOR to updating the firmware was that after a few hours of inactivity, the printer goes to DEEP SLEEP and doesn't wake up when you send a document to print! Basically requiring a power cycle to print. I was getting VERY upset at this, as it completely negates the point of a wireless printer if you have to press the power button off/on every time you want it to print. After a quick chat with Brother support, they said that updating the firmware would fix the issue (I use a mac, OSX 10.11.3) and I'm happy to report that it fixed ALL the issues with that. The printer still deep sleeps but wakes up instantly when I. I've had good luck with Epson printers over many years now (we have several in the house and two in separate offices), and while I know some consider their ink pricey I've never noticed it being a major issue in comparison to other printers. This one, so far, continues Epson's quality, and if things change over usage time, I'll update.
Set-Up: Set up has always been a strength of Epson printers. From first ripping off of the tape on the shipping box to printing the first test pages was under 15 minutes. That includes unboxing, ensuring all the little blue tap has been removed from the printer itself, loading in the ink cartridges, letting the printer initialize them, and having it connect to our wi-fi network.
About the only way it could have been easier if it had unboxed itself and walked up the stairs using its own mechanical. I sell a lot of items on Ebay and I recently purchased this printer for the sole purpose of creating 4x6 inch Ebay Shipping Labels on a Mac. I was worried about whether I could get it to work because I've read about the various problems other people have been having getting it configured and the fact that Label Printers are not officially supported on the Mac. I'm pretty good at figuring things out so I took a chance and bought it. Long story short, I had to come up with my own solution in the end, but I ultimately got it to work quite easily. And I am now happily printing out perfect 4x6 inch Shipping Labels on a Mac.
The printer is working flawlessly and the labels I'm printing are perfect. Therefore, this is a printer I highly recommend even if you're using.
